The Magic Carpet Hydrofoil Board has an all-around medium aspect-ratio wing, which is very stable and fun for freeride and waves at all skill levels from beginner through expert.
Design: Daniel Andersson has been building and riding hydrofoil boards for over 10 years, beginning in Maui, Hawaii. From the very start with tow-in hydrofoil surfing big waves including Jaws, everything had to be bomb proof and extremely reliable. Carbon construction proved to be too delicate for either the board or the foil, with both parts breaking in the high loads riding big waves. Most Carbon foils on the market today are quite frail and must be handled very carefully. They crack or even break when you bottom out, or run into objects in the water.
Construction: The Magic Carpet Foilboard has a bomb proof but lightweight 1-piece aluminum mast/fuselage, & lightweight solid composite wings. The mast is also stiffer than any carbon mast, in both flex and torsion, at nearly the same weight. Type-3 extra-hard-anodized extruded 6061-T6 aerospace aluminum, with fiberglass-reinforced polyester wings, it is almost impossible to break.
Pricing: There's a huge difference in price: The Magic Carpet is much more affordable than any other foil board.
The Magic Carpet Hydrofoil can also be mounted to any Twin Tip, Skim board and Surf style board. If you have any questions of how to turn your beater board into a foil board just let us know!
The Magic Carpet board comes in two models. The Floater Fish is a two-in-one board suitable for all riding levels, that is ridden as a Foil board or a Directional Fish with a Twin fin set up. The Razor is exactly what it implies, just an elegant platform to stand on made out of German Birch plywood and a full carbon wrapped deck.
